Climeon has partnered with maritime sales and service company Franman to introduce its advanced Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) waste-heat-to-power technology to help shipowners and builders reduce their carbon footprint, improve energy efficiency and contribute to a sustainable shipping industry. Franman, with its established presence and expertise in the Greek shipping market, will facilitate Climeon’s entry and growth in the country, enabling access to new customers and projects.

According to the companies, this partnership marks a step in Climeon’s efforts to expand its HeatPower solutions to the Greek market, leveraging Franman’s network and understanding of the local shipping industry.

Executive perspectives

Fredrik Thoren, executive vice president and head of marine at Climeon, commented, “We are excited to partner with Franman to bring our HeatPower solutions to Greece. This is an important market for Climeon as Greece holds 22% of the global fleet. With Franman by our side, we are confident in our ability to make a significant impact on the Greek market.”

Costis Frangoulis, CEO of Franman, added, “Climeon’s innovative technology complements our mission to offer cutting-edge solutions to our clients. This partnership represents a forward step in our quest to enhance sustainability in the Greek shipping industry. We are proud to work with Climeon and excited about the opportunities this collaboration will bring to our market.”

In related news, shipbuilder HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HD-HHI) has invested €2.5m (US$2.65m) to implement Climeon’s waste heat recovery technology on board a series of six A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) 17,200 TEU capacity, methanol-fueled container ships. Click here to read the full story.
