A pair of new pusher tugs will be powered by engines from Wärtsilä. The vessels, which are being constructed at the Uzmar Shipyard in Turkey, are being built for Brazilian operator Hidrovias do Brasil.
The 46m-long tugs have been designed by Canada-based Robert Allan and will operate along rivers in northern Brazil. Three Wärtsilä 20 engines will be supplied for each vessel and are scheduled for delivery to the yard later this year. Hidrovias already has a dozen pusher tugs operating with Wärtsilä 20 engines.
